Borneo is the third-largest island in the world and the largest in Asia. At the geographic centre of Maritime Southeast Asia, in relation to major Indonesian islands, it is located north of Java, west of Sulawesi, and east of Sumatra. The island was named after the nation of Brunei. Approximately 73% of the island is Indonesian territory. In the north, the East Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak make up about 26% of the island. Additionally, the Malaysian federal territory of Labuan is situated on a small island just off the coast of Borneo. Borneo is home to one of the oldest rainforests in the world.
Day 1 Arrival + 3 HOURS KUCHING CITY TOUR
Meet upon arrival at Kuching International Airport, and then proceed for 3 hours Kuching City Tour. Experience the beauty of a multi-racial community and see places of interest & the essential part of Kuching includes the building of the White Rajahs, (Colonial Law Court, Clock Tower, Charles Brooke Memorial, Square Tower) bustling Chinatown, Chinese Temple. Discover the treasure of Cat Museum, sight-seeing to Astana, Malay Village & Kuching Waterfront. After tour complete, assist transfer to city hotel for check in. Overnight at city hotel.
Day 2: BAKO NATIONAL PARK DAY TRIP
After breakfast, meet at hotel lobby and depart for Bako National Park, the oldest national park which offers the perfect introduction of Sarawak forest and wildlife. It can be reached by 30 minutes drive and followed by 30 minutes boat ride. The park has on area of 16sq km of primary forest with abundance of botanical treasure making of 25 types of vegetation. Amongst this plant life is the strange carnivorous pitcher plant. Bako’s mangrove forest is home to the proboscis monkeys, only found in Borneo. Some species like the long-tailed macaques, silver leaf monkey, monitor lizards and bear pig can easily see. Take a jungle trekking to park trails. Lunch at park canteen. After tour complete, back to hotel for overnight.
Day 3 : SEMENGGOH ORANG UTAN REHABILITATION CENTRE / 2D1N IBAN LONGHOUSE SAFARI
After breakfast, meet at hotel lobby and depart Semenggoh Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Walk through the jungle trail and look out for semi-wild Orang Utan in their natural habitat-an amazing experience to meet wild man of Borneo.
Then resume tour to Iban Longhouse. The Iban Longhouse can be reached by coach in about 4 hours and native longboat to go upstream for an hour. The journey passing through countryside scenery, paddy field, rubber plantation, cocoa garden, pepper orchards, lush secondary and virgin jungles. Lunch at small town and finally arriving the river jetty. Late afternoon reach at Iban Longhouse. Visit to the longhouse and surrounding area. Evening, enjoy yourself with the evening entertainments. The natives will welcome you with their traditional welcome dance ‘ngajat’ in full ceremonial regalia. Don’t Miss Rice wine drinking session ‘tuak’ before retiring for the night. Overnight at the Iban Longhouse (sharing basis).
Day 4 IBAN LONGHOUSE / KUCHING
After breakfast, witness cock fighting game and blowpipe demonstration. Proceed for jungle walk passing through rubber, secondary forest and Iban burial ground before ferrying down river to jetty. Then, return journey to Kuching via the same way. Lunch en-route. Transfer to city hotel for check-in. Overnight at city hotel.
Day 5: Departure
Breakfast at hotel. Free at leisure till departure.
